My name is Martin, I have a BSc and PhD in Chemistry, and have taught Science for nearly 20 years, specialising in Chemistry up to A-level. I have taught in single-sex and coeducational secondary schools, and in adult learning environments over this period, in the UK and abroad. Whilst working in a private laboratory, I was responsible for the delivery and assessment of Science A-level Practical Endorsement courses, catering for home-schooled students and adult learners who do not have access to school laboratories. I am also an examiner for A-level Chemistry.

These experiences have given me a helpful insight into how different learners, from Year 7 through to Year 13, respond to different challenges; I am familiar with many of the pitfalls encountered by students in Science, and importantly, how to overcome them! As a full-time tutor, I am able to help students find their own way of learning, and at the same time, share my passion for Science!

During my free time, I like to spend time with my family. I also enjoy kitchen gardening in the summer, snow-boarding in the winter, and cycling all year round.
