Hi, I’m Charlotte, I began my career in Education as a QTS Secondary Geography and Humanities teacher, before specialising in Geology and SEND. I have over 10 years’ experience in Education and alongside my work as a tutor am currently studying for my PhD in Environmental Education. I was recently a finalist for SEND Tutor of the Year with the National Tutoring Association 2026 and I have taught internationally in some of the most remote locations on earth, including on an island formed by a volcano and within the Amazon rainforest in South America.
I believe in sparking fascination in learning and that everyone can excel with guidance and encouragement. I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to match individual learning styles and academic goals. My work with SEND students is varied. I have experience with delivering tutoring to students with Dyslexia; Dyscalculia; Dyspraxia; Autism; RSD and others. In 2022, I received the Cadogan award for Resilience by the British Dyslexia Association and have been nominated for the Dyslexia Awards 2026 as a Community Shining Star.
Additionally, I am a school-based trauma-aware practitioner, with a sensitive understanding of how past experiences can impact a student’s confidence, motivation, and ability to engage with learning. I create a calm, supportive, and non-judgemental learning environment where students feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and progress at their own pace. My approach prioritises emotional safety alongside academic development, helping learners rebuild confidence, reduce anxiety around schoolwork, and develop positive learning habits that support long-term success.
